Since his election in 2013, Pope Francis has encouraged the Church to be close to people and to be sensitive to the way God works in each person. He wants an open, Christ-centred and mission-oriented church.
To properly understand the intuitions of the first Latin-American pope, we must go back to his origins, in Argentina, the country where Jorge Mario Bergoglio was born and lived. His spiritual identity and sense of the incarnation was shaped by popular culture. It was built from his profound experience of mercy, when he was called by God who was waiting for him. It was shaped by St Ignatius of Loyola’s practice of discernment in the Spiritual Exercises.
In this film, we follow members of the Christian Life Community (CLC) walking in the footsteps of Pope Francis, meeting his fellow Jesuits and those who knew him as Archbishop of Buenos Aires.

Přímluvy

Lord, teach us to listen constantly to your Spirit. Send us and your Church out to meet all our brothers and sisters and to testify to your joy.

Slovo měsíce

In the morning, long before dawn, Jesus got up and left the house and went off to a lonely place and prayed there. Simon and his companions set out in search of him, and when they found him, they said, ‘Everybody is looking for you.’ He answered, ‘Let us go elsewhere, to the neighbouring country towns, so that I can proclaim the message there too, because that is why I came.’

Mark 1: 35 - 38
