Where are you Dad?
A few words that many children in Martinique could say. Here, the father is often absent, and it is the women who bring up their children alone. A telling figure is that there are three times as many single-parent families on the island as in mainland France. In actual fact, Martinique suffers from a wound that goes back to the period of slavery, a deep wound that has become part of the collective unconscious and which has deprived many men of their ability to take on responsibilities.
But life with Christ shows that one can always overcome one's past. Thus the men's pastoral ministry initiated by the diocese seeks to allow men find their place in the family and in the church. So for instance, through the day of reconciliation between father and son, or the steps of conversion taken in the Cana sessions. In Martinique, a healing of memories is possible
