Rebuilding together

Lebanon is experiencing an unprecedented economic crisis. The two huge explosions of August 4th 2020 have further aggravated this situation. The port of Beirut has been destroyed, as well as a large part of the city with its houses, hospitals and shops. Overnight people had nowhere to live and many had lost their livelihoods.
In this extremely difficult context, people came together spontaneously to help and support each other, regardless of their social background and religious affiliation. This film tells us a story of hope and brotherhood.

Lord, may your Holy Spirit help our Lebanese brothers and sisters to find, together, a way of building a more just society, that is open to a future full of hope for all.

Other proposed intercessions:

- In the face of the conflicts and crises of all kinds that we face, we can feel downbeat.

Give us Lord the courage and boldness to believe that with you a better world is possible.

- Faced with the suffering of those around us, we may be tempted by indifference.

Lord help us bring support to the needy and do not let us be indifferent to the suffering of our brothers and sisters in humanity.

- Our world is marked by violence and divisions that isolate us from one another.

Lord make a greater desire for brotherhood and mutual aid grow in our hearts, so that together we can build a fairer and more open society.
