” You will receive a Power ” A film with Mary Healy

In the Acts of the Apostles, we read that the disciples met together to pray in the Upper Room when the Holy Spirit came down on them with power, like wind and fire. They then began to speak in many languages and to announce the good news of the resurrection of Christ (Acts 2:1-4).
This experience of the love of God the Father, the fulfilment of Jesus' promises, transformed the Apostles into a community of prophets, capable of speaking in the name of God and discerning
His powerful acts. It is through this leading of the Holy Spirit and through the exercise of many spiritual gifts, that the church was built, experienced amazing growth and moved out from Jerusalem.
The experience of the Apostles at Pentecost was a "Baptism in the Holy Spirit", and it is an experience which we can still have today. Pentecost is not finished and done with. It is still Pentecost!
In fact, this experience of the love of God is a gift, an action of the Holy Spirit which may be received unexpectedly as well as by consciously seeking Baptism in the Holy Spirit. God gives His Spirit when He wishes and in the way He wishes.

of this experience of Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Mary is American, a Doctor of Theology, and she is currently working as Professor of Holy Scripture at the Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit.
