On the occasion of the feast of Easter, celebrated the same day by all Churches in this year 2007, the Net for God team was the privileged witness of two events: one in Nazareth, Israel, the other in Paris, France. What they had in common was that members and leaders of different Churches tried to meet, to speak together, to work and to pray together.<\/p>\n
1. In Nazareth, in this Palestinian city of the state of Israel, on the feast day of the Annunciation, on 25th March 2007, the foundation stone of the ‘Mary of Nazareth’ International Ecumenical Centre was laid. Since May 2001 a small team of ten French people, together with the different Churches of the Holy Land and the Chemin Neuf Community, have been working together for the construction of this Centre.
It will be a place proposed to all pilgrims to discover the truth of the Christian faith through Mary of Nazareth. To understand better the way in which this event took place, and to receive the teachings that Christ gave, we will visit the members of the different Net points of this country of Israel, in Ein Karem, Bethlehem and Jerusalem.<\/p>\n
2. In Paris, different Christian communities, Apostolic Armenians, Orthodox, Protestants and Catholics, chose to prepare themselves during Lent and to welcome together in the early hours of Easter day, in the prestigious site of \u2018La D\u00e9fense\u2019, the presence of the Risen One. Over 2000 people took part.<\/p>\n
These two events show us the power and the efficiency of praying together to knock down the dividing walls between Christians. They are a teaching for each of us, to help us move forward on this path of Christian unity.<\/p>\n
