In recent months worldwide, in Brazil, Egypt, France and elsewhere, young people have taken to the streets to make politicians listen to them. Some are fighting to defend values, others to denounce abuses and unjust laws, and others to demand democracy.<\/p>\n
These young people choose to get involved in a non-violent way for justice and truth by their public actions. They walk, they watch, standing, sitting, day and night, so that people’s consciences do not fall asleep, to remind politicians of their responsibilities, to remind humanity of its inalienable foundations.
They do not leave anyone indifferent, prompting astonishment and revolt, or the opposite: prompting hope and joy. Even if people have no direct relationship between them, in their context and in their goals; do they not have common roots in history and their origins?
All of these movements, which were born spontaneously and widely reported in social media, challenge us. They push us to reflect, training us to discern the call of the Holy Spirit, and in our own way to be watchmen.
