This film is about the Beatification of the 19 Martyrs of Algeria, taking place in Oran on 8th December 2018. These martyrs include the 7 monks of Tibhirine. Fr Pierre Claverie was the subject of a previous Net for God film in May 2017.

Key points about this new film:

- The film explores the spiritual journey of 19 monks and nuns murdered during the 1990s, a grim decade in Algeria. Despite threats, these men and women chose to to stay in Algeria out of love for the Algerian people.
- Incredible testimonies: Sister Chantal Galicher who survived an attack; Father Jean-Pierre Schumacher, the last surviving monk of Tibhirine and Henri Teissier, former archbishop of Algiers, who knew the 19 martyrs personally.
- 15 days filming in the places the martyrs lived in Algeria: Algiers, Tizi-Ouzou (Kabylie), Tibhirine and Oran. 35 interviews with those who knew the matyrs and those who make up the Church in Algeria today.

This film is the first ‘Neuf Media’ production, produced by the Cistercian-Trappist monasteries of France (OCSO) in partnership with Net for God. A second film focusing on the 7 monks of Tibhirine and the Cistercian way of life will be released in April 2019.

The Chemin Neuf Community has lived at Tibhirine monastery since the summer of 2016.
