Since his election in 2013, Pope Francis has encouraged the Church to be close to people and to be sensitive to the way God works in each person. He wants an open, Christ-centred and mission-oriented church.
To properly understand the intuitions of the first Latin-American pope, we must go back to his origins, in Argentina, the country where Jorge Mario Bergoglio was born and lived. His spiritual identity and sense of the incarnation was shaped by popular culture. It was built from his profound experience of mercy, when he was called by God who was waiting for him. It was shaped by St Ignatius of Loyola’s practice of discernment in the Spiritual Exercises.
In this film, we follow members of the Christian Life Community (CLC) walking in the footsteps of Pope Francis, meeting his fellow Jesuits and those who knew him as Archbishop of Buenos Aires.
