During the 27 years of his pontificate, John-Paul II demonstrated with his prodigious energy, that the Christian faith plays a leading role in the liberation of mankind and in changing the course of our lives and
of history. But what was the source of the strength of this man, Karol Wojtyla, who became pope in 1978? How can we understand this? He said himself that it is not to be understood from the outside but only from the interior.
Starting from the life of Karol Wojtyla in Poland, this film shows us the key of the exceptional fruitfulness
of the pontificate of John-Paul II: his charisma is not the sum of his external gifts but the manifestation of his powerful faith and his extraordinary love for Christ.

This Sunday, 1 May 2011, in Rome, six years and one month after his death,
Pope John Paul II (1978 – 2005), was beatified by his successor, Benedict XVI.
