This family is Marie-Hélène and Laurent de Cherisey and their five children who went around the world for 14 months. Having left France in July 2004, they met and recorded men and women in 18 countries who, confronted with a problem in their society, work at finding a solution. From their documentary video journey they brought back seven films for French television and a book, Passeurs d’espoir (‘Bearers of Hope’), which are having a great impact in France.
Reading this article brought us to meeting them and interviewing them in order to make this month’s film. Their testimony enabled us to meet the association ‘Reporteurs d’espoir’ (Reporters of Hope) with Christian de Boisredon. Faced with the bad news that is transmitted every day in the media, this association encourages those who work to spread through the media all the solutions that correspond to problems in our world – they value positive news!
These witnesses appear in the film ‘Light in the Night’ and show us that it’s possible for all mankind to find his way in life, in hope, whatever it may be. In showing the importance of transmitting in the media problems that bear a solution, the film provides three examples.
… / …
In THAILAND – for young people abandoned in front of the television set, Weera teaches them how to produce television shows themselves.
In RWANDA – with the suffering caused by the genocide of 1994, three men, a Hutu, a Tutsi and a Twa, work together for reconciliation in their country.
In PERU – facing mountains of non-treated household waste, Albina Ruiz sets up cleaning and recycling micro-businesses. In this way the most needy of victims in this situation gain recognition and earn a living.
These experiences relate to our vocation in Net for God, that of promoting the Good News throughout the world by using modern means of communication and showing in this way that it’s possible to unite together in order to pray and work for peace and unity in the world.
Ce film est réalisé par la Communauté du Chemin Neuf via le réseau de international prière « Net for God ».
