How do we advance on the path to unity? How do we encounter and love the countless Christian Churches that flourish all over the world, when we often ignore each other?
Today ecumenical dialogue is concerned not just with so-called 'historical' churches, but also 'new churches': evangelicals, Pentecostals and charismatics. Two thirds of Christians today come from 'Southern countries'. It is in this context that the World Christian Forum has become a special space in the last two decades where diverse churches can learn to know and enrich each other. The last major meeting of the World Christian Forum was held in Bogotá, Colombia, 24th - 27th April 2018, with 250 church leaders from 55 countries. Miracles took place there: an incredible discovery of God’s work in other faiths, a depth of exchange, a quality of listening that allowed prejudices to be overcome and an opportunity to live in real communion.
For Net for God’s 2018-2019 launch, this film is an opportunity to rejoice in our journey and live Christ’s prayer more intensely ‘that all are one for the world to believe’. The unique experience of the World Christian Forum challenges the churches on this path of unity. This film was presented in a shortened 5 minute version for the plenary assembly of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity, 26th September in Rome.
Ce film est réalisé par la Communauté du Chemin Neuf via le réseau international de prière « Net for God ».
